Booking.com should be modeled as a consumer-facing OTA and accommodation marketplace separately from supplier-facing surfaces such as Booking.com Connectivity.

## Ecosystem role

On the consumer side, travelers search properties, select offers and may manage a significant part of the booking lifecycle through Booking.com. On the supplier side, property content, rates, availability and reservations can be managed through connectivity partners.

These surfaces share a brand but not the same technical contract.

## Booking and payment ownership

Ownership varies by commercial model. Merchant-like collection, agency-style flows and pay-at-property scenarios should not be collapsed into one assumption.

## Connectivity boundary

Booking.com Connectivity APIs focus on property and connectivity-partner state such as content, rates, availability and reservations. Keep the consumer OTA profile separate from the [Booking.com Connectivity](/en/metasearch/ecosystem/booking-connectivity) profile.

## Technical modeling

Preserve property, room/rate, seller, booking owner, payment owner and source contract as separate concepts.
